Tree Removal — Common Questions
Can you remove storm-damaged or fallen trees?
Yes. Tell us what happened and whether the tree is blocking access or threatening a structure so we can understand the situation quickly.
Do you clean up after removal?
Cleanup is part of the planned scope. We explain what is included in your estimate before work begins.
Are estimates free?
Yes. Estimates are free and come with no obligation.
What does tree removal cost?
There is no flat price. Cost depends on the size and species of the tree, how close it is to the house, power lines or a fence, and how much room the crew has to work and haul debris. That is why we look at the tree before quoting. The on-site estimate is free and there is no obligation.
Do you remove the stump as well?
Stump grinding is a separate service, but most people have it done at the same time. Tell us when you request the estimate and we will price both together so you are not paying for two trips.
What happens to the branches and wood?
We haul everything away and rake the area before we leave. If you want the wood cut to length and stacked for firewood, say so up front and we will leave it that way instead.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
It depends on your town and on where the tree stands. Trees on private property are usually the owner’s decision, but some towns protect trees near the street or in wetland buffers. Ask us during the estimate and we will tell you what applies in your case.
Can you take down a tree that is very close to the house?
Yes. When there is no room to fell a tree in one piece, we take it down in sections and lower the pieces with ropes. It takes longer than a straight fell, which is part of what the estimate accounts for.
How long does the job take?
Most residential removals are finished in one day. Very large trees, difficult access or several trees at once can run longer, and we will tell you before starting.
